Tall Stories begins with two youngsters getting more than the axe they wanted to borrow as their grandfather starts recounting the colourful history of the tool. That tale inevitably leads into a series of stories about life in the Finnish countryside in the early 20th century. And the kind of stories they are...

But should one believe grandfather's tales? Were things really so much better back then? And what exactly were those Korpela boys up to?
